Online Fraudster

Hi everyone...

Today im not going to talk about food, but something useful to most online shoppers

It just happen to me recently, but lucky i notice it early.
Recently while trying to sell some goods online. i came across some PayPal Fraudster

Here's is a list event of what happen... a few pictures of the emails, and attachment that i receive... "slightly edited" (for everyone's preview safety, everything here is Prnt Screens pic and text formatted, ;) the text in red is my opinion, The text in blue is modified for safety reasons
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@@In the 1st email,

(The 1st thing i notice in the email really made me curious, the buyer name is very "English", but the email address is very "Chinese")

In the email,
The interested buyer emailed me, telling me that he goes sailing a lot and is out of town most of the time. He is interested in the item i classified in one of the online ads, saying he don't really mind about the conditions of the goods, as it looks excellent from the pictures i provide in the ad, on top of that, he says that he is willing to pay a few $ extra for the item,

At the end of the emails, he ask for my mobile contacts and my PayPal account number, cause he is willing to pay through PayPal with his credit card. leaving no other contacts or personal details to me.

@@I reply, with only my PayPal emails. and my mobile phone number

-----------------------------------------------------------
@@The next morning,

The guy call me up (with a Private Number) quite early, at that time, i am half asleep. He told me that he is out overseas, and already made the credit card transfer to my PayPal Account through his Agent. but he need my help, asking me to check my emails.

So i did, i received 2 emails, 1st one from "HIM" and another from his "PayPal/Agent"
-------
@@ 1. The 1st email from "HIM" wrote...

Subject:Payment Sent !! Kindly help me out‏

Hi Peter(that's me),

I have sent the payment, you can check your e-mail for confirmation of payment, i have a problem here, i just got an email from my agent that he won't come and pick up the item unless i pay him the agent commission fee first, and their is no how i can do that cos i am out of the town for sailing and i can't access WXXXXXn UXXXn" ("WXXXXXn UXXXn" sound a bit like a Bank or some money transfer Company/Croporations??) , i have decided to add the amount which is $450 while i paid through paypal, (<<>only, so TOTAL = $870) So please i will like you to help me wire the amount of $450 to my agent via western union so he can be able to come and pick up the item any time from now and also paypal said they won't release the funds until they get the WXXXXXn UXXXn information from you (Which means i don't get any $$$ until i 1st wired the $450 to his "agent"/WXXXXXn UXXXn) due to the fact that i emailed them about the excess payment i made.i will be looking forward to hear from you so i that can forward the shipping agent Head quarter address in other to send the commission fee($450)..

Cheers!!
BXXXX(The Buyer/Fraudster)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
@@ 2. The email from his "Agent/Paypal/WXXXXXn UXXXn/?????" (i'm not sure which who!!??)

Subject: Notification of an Instant Payment Received from BXXXX DXXX (The Buyer/Fraudster)

From: XXXXXXYYY@gmail.com on behalf of service@paypal.com.au (AAABBBCCC@accountant.com) (An Account Agent for paypal using a casual @gmail e-address)

(It's a bit blur and small , cause I PrintScreen and edited it in picture format on purpose)

(anyone of you buying online through paypal before is familar to the top part, as it looks almost exactly the same as a normal PayPal transactions.)
(And the Email Continue with)

Please note:
We wish to inform you that BXXXX DXXXX has made his intentions known to PayPal that he will like $450.00 AUD to be sent to the recipient's address above via WXXXXXn UXXXn Money Transfer.

This payment has been deducted from the buyer's account and has been " APPROVED" but will not be credited into your account until the MTCN # is sent to us for verification, so as to secure both the buyer and the seller. Below are the relevant information required before your account will be credited: (here, it means i have to wired the extra $450 to WXXXXXn UXXXn, to get the MTCN# to comfirm the transaction)

All you have to do is to reply directly to this mail with the MTCN #,Secret questions and answers used when sending the money. (so im giving him the answer/password to withdraw the transaction from WXXXXXn UXXXn, ) Once it has been verified and the details above sent to us, you will receive a "CONFIRMATION E-mail" from Pay Pal® Service informing you that your account has been credited with $880.00 AUD. (i will recieve another comformation e-mail from the fraud/fake-PayPal!!!??)

Please, understand that this is a security measure intended to help protect both the Buyer and the Seller. We apologize for the inconvenience that has caused you. (Ya right! trying to sound as its for real)
Because of the inconvenience this causes we are giving you the next two incoming transfers for free! You will pay no fees for your next two incoming transfers*.
Thank you for using PayPal! (WOW, and some free GOODIES/OFFERS???)

* - If fees would normally apply, you will not pay anything for the next two incoming transfers you receive.

PayPal Security

(end of 2nd emails)
(SAME as the 1st emails. nothing about who am i sending the money to, or detail or bank account or buyers details)
============================================
-----------------------------------------------------------------
So here it is....

For 1st timer, or people who don't use paypal much, this might look like any other typical paypal trasanction, but it's not. (only the 1st part) From what i know, Paypal do not do any "Middle Man/waiting" Transaction. PayPal only deals money/credit transfer between buyer n seller.

I double check and scan the (fake)Paypal emails with anti phishing(anti false identity)software. here is the one i use http://www.iconix.com/index.php Iconix is recomended by paypal, it can help u to spot registered/certified company e-mails.

i also forward the mail to paypal security. Both reply with false identity and not certifed!!

I check my paypal account for any transcation, but there is none. Cause All of payPal transaction can be track online even if it is under "waiting" or "pending", cause some transaction/e-cheque takes a few working days to process.

Im lucky as im a frequent paypal user. Always double check the transaction even when you are sure. Never wired to some other party/agent until you recieve the actual payment from the buyer. Check with your bank money transfer comepany for more security. Hope everyone learn from it.... ;)

MY BEST MATES.........Part 1

Write less and let the photos "do the talking"....

Popular Vietnamese Restaurant
- Speciality type One
Egg Soda

Egg White, cream soda & Bandung
Coconut Juice

The flesh is thinly sliced & textured like "jelly"
-Speciality type Two
Seafood Salad
Seafood mixed with glass noodles, onions, lettuces, mint leaf etc. Taste spicy & sour. It's a very good appetiser

-Speciality type Three

"DIY" cold rolls

Step 1 - Soften the rice paper in the hot water provided. Lay the soften rice paper on the plate
Step 2 - Cut out the skewer sugarcane prawns & pork rolls in pieces
Step 3 - Put salad & Noodles & cut up sugarcane prawns or pork
Step 4 - Put the sauce over it
Step 5 - Fold the sides & roll everything up

Something like below??

Still, we will have some bad example too (for god sake, it's not me)

Miang Kiam from Danny's Thai

Betel leaf served with shredded coconut, paste, freshly diced cut lime, onions & grilled prawn

Important note : Wrap all ingredients and eat it together. You will feel "layers" of texture & taste.
When you put the miang kam into the mouth, you will 1st feel the fresh, soft betel leaf at the outer layer. Once you have your 1st bite, you will feel the crispy texture from the shredded coconut and a nice blend with the paste.
When you have the 2nd bite and if you happen to bite on the freshly cut lime, it brings you to another layer of fresh taste and plus the sweetness from the onions.

I REALLY LOVE IT!!!!

If you are interested to know where the places are, feel free to leave a comment and we will provide you the details!!

KUEH CHAP pty' ltd'

KUEH CHAP Pt.ltd.

BEST in SINGAPOREcopied from http://eatthewalk.blogspot.com/2005/12/guan-kee-kueh-chap.html
Toa Payoh, Hup Huat Coffee Shop

& KUCHINGcopied from, http://www.deliciousasianfood.com/2007/08/02/kueh-chap/
Psst'!, I'm not sure which stall this picture is taken, but it look like from one of those Siang Siang Fang (Food Court, cos they always serve kueh chap in RED bowls, but most other stall do that as well (..") )

Kueh Chap (粿汁 guǒ zhī, Koay Chap), Kueh = the thick rice noodle, Chap = soup, is a very popular hokkien (NON HALAL) dish in Singapore and Kuching, it mostly contain the "kueh" which is the thick square rice noodle in soup, and with some mix of pork belly(fatty pork), pork intestine, pork ear, egg and "Tau Pok" (Dried spongy bean curd), sometimes u get some other stuff in there as well like pork heart, liver, kidney, tongue (all of those other pork spare parts, that's what i call it)& etc, normally all the pork mix is place on top of the noodle soup, or serve in another plate

Other place like Johor, K.L. and Penang do sell it as well, but some have a different variation/ combination with duck meat instead or even chicken.

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT?
You get it in ADELAIDE as well...
Home COOKED....... Wahahahaha.......
Center: Pork Mix Platter
Top left: Chinese crullers (Yao Tiu)

Bottom Left: Soft Bean curd "Tao Pok"
Top Center: Belacan and home "mix"chili sauce
Top right: Pot of thick "Chap"!!
Right Center: Another Pork Mix Platter
Bottom Right: Bowls of Kueh Tao Soup.

After stranded in Adelaide for a few years... everyone starts craving for all the good foods we missed so so SO much back home! So in order to fill up everyone taste buds... i cooked up this special meal for our regular Saturday's lunch gathering!

All the Pork "parts" is cooked with spices and dark soya sauce, "Pat Lo" they call it in Hokkien, slow cooked until it get all the flavour and colors. For the soup noodle, the noodles are square cut thick rice noodle (kueh tiao), can be brought folded & uncut in most Asian grocery, the soup for the noodle are diluted from the soup base of the pork mix, with a touch of some deep fried onion oil.

Its a bit hard to get all the innards and spare parts in this part of the world (Aus), they do sell it in most Asian Groceries, but it's quite limited.

The Kueh Chap Mix Pork Platter, the most important plate.
Clockwise from top: kidneys, intestines, boiled eggs, pork ears
Center: pork hearts.
Topped with some Fried onion.

Another Platter
Clockwise: Lean Pork, more intestine's, fatty pork on the left.
topped with some Fried onion.

The "Kueh Tiao" without the "Tieng"
Halfway through preparing the noodle soup, before adding the soup. The noodle stirred with some "Pork oil" (a MUST HAVE), just like a touch of olive oil to your pasta! *the trick is to deep fried all the pork FAT and then replace it with fried onion, so people would think it is just a DEEP FRIED ONION OIL! but it's NOT!!!

The People Enjoying the Feasts!
"The DT's Gang"
from left to right: Kueh tiao, pork intestine(in black shirt),
boiled egg(the
one with cap), pork heart, tao pok (in pink)& pork ear(standing)

Last but not least......

The One that got Slaughtered!!!

An Usual Saturday.....

Vietnamese food was 1st introduced to my life when I came to Adelaide. I hardly recall having V. food back in Singapore. I am always under the impression that there are alot of vietnamese people living in adelaide and most of them are grown up here & majority speak cantonese. So...I did a search as follow:
Extracted from some website
"The population of Adelaide consists of students, overseas-born Adelaideans and the local inhabitants. The population of Adelaide consists of a unique mixture of English, Irish, German, Vietnamese, Italian, Greek and Polish people. As per statistical data, 38% of the people are English, 34% are Australians, 3.5% were Italian, 1.2% are Vietnamese, 0.7% Polish and German, while the Greeks consist of 2.3% of the population"

This explains why there are so many Vietnamese resturants around and this lead to our usual Saturday Lunches.

Drink 1- Filtered White Coffee OR "Qing Bo Liang" @ $3

Entree -Cold Roll @ $2 each

HOT ENTREE LIST - The cold roll
Ingredients includes of rice vermicelli noodles, cabbage, mint leaves, prawns and pork. Wrapped all the ingredients up using the rice paper and not forgetting the sauce.

Bottom Left - Salads for Noodles Soup Dishes Mints, peppermint leaves, cabbage, Beansprout & Banana flower thinly sliced

Bottom Right - Dry Chilli Flakes it's a MUST for me!!

Our Favourite Dish - Spicy pork/beef noodles with rice noddles

How Booze Attached to Our Life

Booze has rooted in our late night parties ever since Sept 2007. It was the first and very special occasion that we celebrated - CrappyPoh's Birthday. I could still remember vividly the few hours that we 12 people spent in Elvis Room, Buddha Bar. Johnie Red, Canadian Club, Tequila, Smirnoff Vodka... had caused few drunkards went completely passed out. One went missing somewhere at a 5 Stars hotel washroom, One thrown up on the carpet while hand holding a bin, One was yelling and screaming while singing songs. (Ahem* Sorry if i missed out anything classic?) Million thanks to our Aiders for sending these drunkards home safely. Despite having experienced the terrible hangovers the next couple of days, it was indeed a memorable night and taught us a valuable lesson - WE SHOULD DRINK MORE!

Here we continue our booze life with :

Dennis's 21st birthday party ( Oct 2007)...

7 shots of Jegamisters!
Mission accomplished...

Jacob's Birthday Party (April 2008) ...

Our Ah 3! A person who can't live without alcohols and ciggies...

Booze makes us think creatively... Beer in Trophy

Ah ha! Finally he's drunk with his XX sign.

Judy's Birthday Party (April 2008)....Booze gives us the guts... Chivas + Oyster

Booze drives us nuts...

Booze gives us witty acting... Bacardi 151 with 99% alcohol

Leanne's Birthday Party (June 2008)...

Booze creates a lousy drinker among us... Wohooo! She got inebriated by this Lamborghini.

Dennis's Farewell Party (July 2008)...
Booze trains us consume higher level of alcohols... We're drinking JUGS instead of shots!

Welcoming Peter's lover, Michelle to Adelaide (Sept 2008)...
and welcome our new members - Jasmine, Peter, Charlene.

Her high consumption of alcohol was astonishing! Don't play play...

Booze makes us sing with all our hearts... 我们的爱~~~~~
Booze can make things worse...

Last but not least,

Booze strengthens our friendship!

* Bear in mind, We are not binge drinkers.

what happened to OZ dollars??

THIS MORNING I WAS CHECKING CURRENCY RATES and...

Singapore dollars is stronger than Australia dollars now!! I remember when I 1st left Singapore for Adelaide to study which is like 6 years ago, the currency rate is around 1-1 and my dearest Siu Ling is so delighted that I choose Australia. Compared to my 2 other brothers studying in States at that time, I am considered a lighter burden to her.

Since then, aussie dollars started to grow stronger and most recently, like 3 months back, aussie dollars hit 1 -1.37, almost on par with US dollars. I was thinking that it will be great cos I will feel I earn more and convincing myself that it's a good choice to work in Adel than going back to SG.

BUT!!! LOOK at this now....However, I doubt it will stop me from spending when I am back in SG or stop me from enjoying my Holidays in US this Dec ...then I can foresee myself next Jan as a super Broke person...

Everyone who is earning aussie dollars, let's pray hard the aussie dollars will grow soon & stronger!!

Anyway I will be posting some entries on our "food" stuff soon. Ya..real soon.
